Amy Derick, M.D., FAAD, Medical Director

Amy Derick, M.D., FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist practicing medical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Derick is the founder and director of Derick Dermatology, LLC. Derick Dermatology’s state-of-the-art facilities (located in Barrington and Crystal Lake, Illinois) serve thousands of patients in Illinois and Wisconsin. Dr. Derick and her staff are committed to giving each patient a knowledgeable, compassionate, and customized experience.
 
Dr. Derick grew up in Palatine, Illinois, where she was honored with the 2011 William Fremd High School Distinguished Graduate Award. She trained at prestigious universities in the Midwest and received awards for outstanding academic achievement and research. Dr. Derick is an Instructor of Clinical Dermatology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Derick has lectured at national meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and regionally to the Chicago Dermatological Society. She is a peer-reviewer for leading academic journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology. Dr. Derick is a featured speaker at Cosmetic Bootcamp® courses around the country, where she trains physicians in non-surgical rejuvenation.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Active in the Dermatological community, Dr. Derick volunteers hundreds of hours every year in support of non-profit organizations and initiatives. She is the Assistant Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Dermatologic Society, a group of over 1,000 dermatologists nationwide. Dr. Derick is the President of the Illinois Dermatological Society. She participates in local community-sponsored events such as library talks and free skin cancer screenings held at regional hospitals.

As part of her commitment to raising awareness about skin health through traditional and new media platforms, Dr. Derick has developed a web-based video series that educates patients about dermatologic issues. In 2011, Dr. Derick authored a chapter on Internal Marketing in the book, Cosmetic Bootcamp® Primer.
