Amy Derick, M.D., FAAD is a board certified dermatologist practicing medical and cosmetic dermatology in Barrington, Illinois since 2006. She is the founder and director of Derick Dermatology, LLC, which serves the dermatologic needs of nearly 22,000 patients throughout the Chicago region.
She is a featured speaker at Cosmetic Bootcamp ® courses around the country, where she trains other physicians (such as plastic surgeons, dermatologists, facial plastic surgeons, and ophthalmologists) in non-surgical rejuvenation. In addition, Dr. Derick has lectured at national meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and regionally, to the Chicago Dermatological Society.
Dr. Derick is a peer-reviewer for leading academic journals including the
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology.
Dr. Derick is an Instructor of Clinical Dermatology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. She trained at prestigious universities in the Midwest and has received awards for her outstanding academic achievement and research. She has been honored with the 2011 William Fremd High School Distinguished Graduate Award.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Active in the dermatological community, Dr. Derick volunteers hundreds of hours every year in support of non-profit organizations and initiatives. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Dermatologic Society, a group of 1,400 dermatologists nationwide. Dr. Derick serves as Vice President of the Illinois Dermatological Society and an Illinois representative for the State Advocacy Networks for Dermatologic Surgery, a service of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Association.
In addition, Dr. Derick participates in local community-sponsored events such as library talks and free skin cancer screenings held at regional hospitals.

As part of her commitment to raising awareness about skin health through traditional and new media platforms, Dr. Derick has developed a web-based video series educating patients about various dermatologic conditions and issues. In addition, in 2009, she spearheaded an innovative outreach to national women’s magazines promoting media mentoring among her physician peers and current thought leaders in dermatology. In 2011, Dr. Derick authored a chapter on Internal Marketing in the book,
Cosmetic Bootcamp® Primer.
