Kathleen Bowman, PA-C

Kathi grew up locally in Arlington Heights and attended Buffalo Grove High School, graduating with highest honors. She then received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology summa cum laude at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. There she earned Bronze Tablet Honors, graduating within the top 3% of her class.

Immediately following her undergraduate degree, Kathi attended Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science to obtain a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. After one year of intense surgical training, Kathi discovered her passion for dermatology.

Kathi has a special interest in treating acne as well as providing patient education and specialized care. She also enjoys the surgical treatment of skin conditions and the many other facets of dermatological care.

Kathi lives in the Northwest Suburbs with her husband Ryan, and two cats, Reese and T.J. Her special interests include traveling and photography.

Karen Smith, PA-C

Karen grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota and attended Century High School, graduating as valedictorian. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Sport, Health, and Leisure Studies with an emphasis in Health Promotion from the University of Iowa, graduating with distinction.

Karen received her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in 2007. After acquiring one year of inpatient/outpatient experience in gynecologic oncology, Karen began her career in dermatology and has accumulated three years of dermatologic experience going into 2011.

Karen is passionate about dermatology, and she has a special interest in skin cancer and early detection through routine screenings. She also enjoys treating acne and eczema.

Karen lives in downtown Chicago with her husband Travis. She enjoys golf, reading, and travel.
