Kathleen Bowman, PA-C

Kathi grew up locally in Arlington Heights and attended Buffalo Grove High School, graduating with highest honors. She then received her Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology summa cum laude at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. There she earned Bronze Tablet Honors, graduating within the top 3% of her class.

Immediately following her undergraduate degree, Kathi attended Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science to obtain a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. After one year of intense surgical training, Kathi discovered her passion for dermatology.

Kathi has a special interest in treating acne as well as providing patient education and specialized care. She also enjoys the surgical treatment of skin conditions and the many other facets of dermatologic care.

Kathi lives in the Northwest Suburbs with her husband, Ryan, and two cats, Reese and T.J. Her special interests include traveling and photography.

Vanessa - Office Manager

As a lifelong resident of Elgin, Vanessa attended Larkin High School. While at Larkin, she focused in health studies and received her Nursing Assistant Certificate. She then went on to receive her Esthetician license which she maintains through the state of Illinois.

Vanessa joined Derick Dermatology as a Medical Assistant in early 2007. She gradually took over many administrative duties in addition to her clinical work and transitioned to become the Office Manager in January 2009. Vanessa is dedicated to delivering quality customer service and ensuring patient satisfaction. In addition, she helps run the practice smoothly and efficiently and often leads the team by example.

Vanessa lives in Elgin with her husband, John. Vanessa and John also share their home with three dogs and two African Grey parrots. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and outdoor activities.
